MOTORCYCLE COVERS

ENGINEERED TO HELP PREVENT
CONDENSATION ON YOUR BIKE

What Is Condensation?
And How Do I Prevent It On My Bike?

THE ANATOMY OF

CONDENSATION

From The Engineers At Dowco University

Dowco Covered Motorcycle

Warm, humid air is trapped between your motorcycle and cover.

Air & motorcycle surface temperature drop together at even rates throughout the evening.

As the air temperature rises, your cycle temperature rises more slowly, causing humidity trapped under your cover to condense on your cool cycle and giving the illusion that your cover leaks.

Warm air + cool cycle = condensation

Just like when you leave ice water sit in a glass on a warm day, air humidity condenses on the cool glass. Does the glass leak? No. Humidity in the air gathers on the cold glass surface, causing the appearance that the glass is leaking.

HOW DOWCO DESIGNS COVERS TO

HELP PREVENT CONDENSATION

Condensation has many variables and we have not yet found a way to prevent all condensation, but we continue to seek out better ways to one day elimiate the problem altogether.

Hot Air Leaving Cover

Moisture Guard Vents

Large vents placed as high as possible to allow warm air to escape and pull cool air in from the bottom

Dowco's Breathable Fabric

Breathable Fabric

Use breathable, waterproof, and water resistant materials.

Cool Air Design

Cool Air Design

Covers are designed to fit about 1/2 to 3/4 over the wheels. This allows 3 - 8” of space between the ground & cover for cool air to enter from the bottom.
